A finish applied to fibre or fabric so spills sit on the surface long enough to be blotted off instead of soaking in. It is standard on restaurant, hospitality and industrial uniform blanks, where the garment's life is measured in how long it still looks clean. The finish is a surface treatment, so it gradually washes off, and while it is fresh it can also repel ink and adhesive — which is precisely the decorator's problem. Test adhesion on a sample before running stain-resistant goods, especially with heat transfer vinyl and direct-to-garment printing.
