American Apparel Size Chart
Within a brand, styles usually share a pattern: American Apparel cuts these 4 to the same chest and body length at most sizes, and what separates them is fabric, weight, neckline and how far up the size range they run. Where a style does diverge, the tables below show it.
It is between brands that a size L stops meaning one thing. A small measures 18″ across the chest at Gildan and Bella+Canvas and 19″ at Next Level, and the three brands’ own body charts disagree about what chest a size S is even for. Collect sizes once and order two brands from them and some of it will not fit.
American Apparel publishes garment measurements for only one of these styles. The rest carry a to-fit chest chart and nothing else, so there is no laid-flat comparison to draw — each style's own page shows what the brand publishes for it.
