An Anti-Microbial fabric has been treated so that it has the property of preventing or limiting the growth of microbes it comes into contact. Depending on the treatment it will either slow the spread or completely kill any pathogen it will come in contact with. Those fabrics are higly regulated by the FDA in order to safe for consumers.
