What is a triblend t-shirt?

A shirt knitted from three fibres — here polyester, cotton and rayon. The polyester gives strength and colour, the cotton gives hand, and the rayon gives the drape and the slightly heathered look that no pure cotton achieves.

Do triblend shirts shrink?

Less than pure cotton, because three quarters of the fabric is polyester and rayon. They are more prone to stretching out of shape in a hot dryer than to shrinking.

Why does the 3XL have the same body length as the 2XL?

That is what the brand's spec sheet prints, and we reproduce it rather than correcting it. It may be an error on the sheet. If you are ordering at the top of the size range, measure a sample before committing.

Can you screen print on a triblend?

Yes, and it is done constantly for the vintage look, but it needs testing. The polyester can migrate dye into the ink under heat and the rayon does not take water-based ink like cotton. Do not carry a cotton recipe straight over.

What the numbers mean in practice

Two things on this sheet are worth flagging rather than tidying away. The 3XL body length is printed as 32″, the same as the 2XL, while the 4XL jumps to 34″. And the body chart stops at 3XL although the garment chart runs to 4XL. Both are reproduced here as printed — if you are ordering the top of the range, measure a sample.

At 3.8 oz this is the lightest blank on these pages, and the rayon is why it drapes rather than hangs. It is also why it is the least forgiving: a triblend shows the body underneath more than a cotton tee of the same nominal size.

Triblends take ink differently from cotton. The polyester carries dye that can migrate under heat, and the rayon does not absorb water-based ink the way cotton does, so both screen printing and DTG want testing on this fabric rather than assuming a cotton recipe.
